They say necessity is the mother of all invention, this was never more true than in the case of the baa-baa blind.

Four months after the birth of our first-born in 2005 we felt brave enough to leave the safety of home to take our new family to the seaside.

We found a holiday cottage billed as a 'family-friendly getaway' with all the necessary baby accessories in-situ.

It really was a baby-friendly home from home.

That was until bedtime came around when I drew the flimsy floral curtains which were about as effective at blocking light as Clingfilm.

Used to sleeping in relative darkness at home, baby Thompson then began his week-long campaign of battling sleep until darkness finally fell. Then waking at the crack of dawn, which in August is offensively early!

Like most we eventually got around the problem with an awkward arrangement of blankets which threatened to bring down the curtain rail. But in those long wakeful nights the seed had been sown which grew into the baa-baa blind.

May 2007

The baa-baa blind was officially launched at the Baby Show at the NEC, the response was hugely positive. Vistiors to the show were a mix of pregnant women and those already with young children.

Parents of young children immediately identified with the product and many bought the blind in anticipation of travelling this summer.I predict we will see the pregnant women again once they know the true meaning of a sleepless night!

We are now working on getting the baa-baa blind into retail outlets and mail-order catalogues.

August 2007

We are about to sell out of our first shipment of blinds, and just as Summer is finally arriving - typical! The product has perfomed beyond our wildest dreams.

Thanks to all who have spread the baa-baa word! There will be plenty more!

April 2008: Baby baa-baa has arrived early, 8lbs 4oz was born Monday April 21st. Baby Joss is not a keen sleeper but a big eater, she's already a whiz at packing blinds though!

We are just managing to keep up with orders but excuse us if we sound a little tired when you call!
